I was born and raised in wild, wonderful, West Virginia! Picture driving down a gravel road on the side of a mountain and you only see trees and 3 houses. Yep, there is my brick home at the end of that road. Not having many kids to play with, I had to use my imagination quite a bit. My childhood dream was to become a teacher, so I loved playing school. I would set up my classroom, with all of my materials perfectly placed on the shelves and all of my paperwork was neatly displayed in binders. Each of my dolls and stuffed animals joined as my students and of course, they all made good grades because I was such an organized and thorough teacher. I couldn’t wait to grow up and organize my very own classroom, for real.
My dream became reality when I attended Marshall University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After college, I moved to Charlotte, NC, where I served as a teacher for 9 years. And yes, my classroom was perfectly organized and everything had a place. During those years, I also graduated with a Master’s Degree in reading/writing from the University of Charlotte North Carolina and I married the love of my life.
We began our journey as parents during the year 2010, to which I made the decision to be a stay-at-home mom. I spent 7 wonderful years playing, giggling, and snuggling. Even though tidying took a back seat during those years, I’m so thankful I had that precious time with my two beautiful daughters.
As of today, both girls are in school and my house is tidied and it totally Sparks Joy for me.
Now, it’s your turn. What’s your story?
I now feel empowered with the tools needed for maintaining a tidy home.
